ROC MIKEY

Born Michael Bailey in Washington DC, Rock Mikey was one of the leading voices of the popular Go-Go band UCB. Established by himself and three of his other band members in the mid-nineties, UCB rapidly became a huge success. Although his roots will forever remain with his Go-Go band, Roc Mikey can no longer be defined solely by the success of UCB. Now, he has his solo story to tell. The DC bred artist is not only a survivor in the music game; he is a survivor in life. Raised in a single-parent home in an area plagued with violence and drugs, Roc Mikey was able to find an outlet; an outlet through music. He stands with many major accomplishments and much success as a band member, with hopes to attain the same as a solo hip-hop artist. His first complete solo project, entitled “Jump Off”, symbolizes that this is only the beginning. It gives a taste of authentic rap, with a live band sound. Featuring local producers Bubu, Johnny Five, JEC, and Dream City .Today he is presently under a new label Mazerati Music and will be releasing his next project, entitled “GAMEFACE” which gives a more album feel with original tracks. Featuring producers – Its a “BIG E” beat,C-Ducketts, John Moon, PSS Media, Lo-Key and E-Minah coming early January 2011. Roc Mikey proves that he is able and ready to make timeless music and open the door for his city; Washington, DC.
